A man died after his coworker accidentally hit him with his pickup truck in a New Jersey Costco parking lot Friday, authorities said.
The two men, who had construction equipment with them, were working in the lot on Chestnut Drive in Union when one of them hopped into a pickup truck, police said.
The man then mistakenly threw the truck into the wrong gear and backed up, hitting his coworker and dragging him through a swath of mulch into a neighboring parking lot, according to police.
A witness told News 4 the driver got out of his truck and broke down when he realized what had happened.
