Meek Mill Brought Down The House At The 76ers Game Last Night [VIDEO]

Meek Mill was released from prison on Tuesday afternoon after what many believed was a wrongful prison sentencing by an allegedly corrupt judge.

The rapper – who was in prison for five months after supposedly violating a probation sentence – was picked up by his lawyer, Brian McMonagle, and flown out of a Chester, PA state prison in a helicopter. He went straight to Philly to catch Game 5 against the Miami Heat.

And you better believe his appearance was electric. With Meeks release reported only hours before the 76ers game, there were rumblings he could make it to Game 5 but nobody officially confirmed it until he stepped out onto the court to ring the Liberty Bell replica.

It was a pretty incredible moment in Philly sports history, and you can bet it was even crazier for Meek Mill. The rapper later posted an Instagram, thanking all those who helped to advocate for his release.

Id like to thank God, my family, my friends, my attorneys, my team at Roc Nation including Jay Z, Desiree Perez, my good friend Michael Rubin, my fans, The Pennsylvania Supreme Court and all my public advocates for their love, support and encouragement during this difficult time. While the past five months have been a nightmare, the prayers, visits, calls, letters and rallies have helped me stay positive. To the Philadelphia District Attorneys office, Im grateful for your commitment to justice – not only for my case, but for others that have been wrongfully jailed due to police misconduct. Although Im blessed to have the resources to fight this unjust situation, I understand that many people of color across the country dont have that luxury and I plan to use my platform to shine a light on those issues. In the meantime, I plan to work closely with my legal team to overturn this unwarranted conviction and look forward to reuniting with my family and resuming my music career.
