It looks like one of the major theories for Avengers 4 has been confirmed.
Marvel fans have been convinced that time travel will be utilised in the final chapter of the franchise in order to reverse Thanoss snap that wiped out half the universe.
And now, Michael Douglas has confirmed that the Quantum Realm has a huge part to play in Avengers 4.
Michael, who plays Hank Pym in the MCU, was asked during an interview on On Air With Ryan Seacrest whether Ant-Man and the Wasp is directly related to the upcoming Avengers film.
The 74-year-old said: Right. Right. That is absolutely true.
I mean, all of them — I mean, the Quantum Realm, thats the key. Thats the key. The Quantum Realm plays an important part in all the next chapters, I think, of the Marvel films.

When you team this Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige saying the Ant-Man cast will be very important going forward, were starting to get a clearer picture of Avengers 4s plot.
The Quantum Realm, as described by Hank Pym, is a reality where all concepts of time and space become irrelevant as you shrink for all eternity.
You can get to the alternate dimension via subatomic shrinking caused by the Pym Particles – which is what happened to Janet Van Dyne and Scott Lang – or by using a Sling Ring. Who has a Sling Ring? Doctor Strange.
Of course, Strange was eliminated in the Thanos snap, but Lang, aka Ant-Man, was left suspended in the Quantum Realm at the end of Ant-Man and The Wasp.
With Pym, Janet and Hope all dusted as well, it is expected that Lang will go back in time to attempt to stop the snap.

Weight was added to this theory after Paul Rudd was pictured filming alongside Robert Downey Jr in a Battle Of New York scene, a battle which Ant-Man was not at in the first place.
It could be that the Time Stone will be used as well, after Doctor Strange surrendered the stone to Thanos in Infinity War, despite saying he never would.

This will all be revealed in April 2019, when the as yet untitled Avengers 4 is set for release.
