The big day has arrived when David and Aaron are set to tie the knot.
Its a monumental occasion, not just because of the trials the pair have gone through to get to this point, its the first ever gay wedding to be shown on Australian TV.
Gay marriage was legalised in December, and not long after, Neighbours bosses revealed David and Aaron would be getting hitched.
Its a huge moment for the show, being the first in the country to show such a heartwarming event, and the cast feel how big it is to be part of something so historic.
Actor Takaya Honda, who plays David, told Metro.co.uk its an absolute honour to be one of the first Aussie grooms to get wed on TV.
It is an absolute honour and privilege to be a part of this historic moment, he told us. It is truly a special thing to be a part of and to have the first in Australia is something that can never be taken away from Matt or I and thats so special.

He added the day was fun to film, calling it a special thing to film.
It was CRAZY, ha, he said. We dont normally have media on set, but we did for the wedding and having to do interviews in between takes certainly put our multitasking abilities to the test. I was also quite sick on the day so I was just hoping I could keep it all together. But, with getting to work with the brilliant man that is Matty Wilson and the rest of the cast and crew I really feel something special was created.
Eve Morey, who plays Sonya, added that although her character doesnt feature during the ceremony, its one of the storylines shes most proud to be linked with.
Sonya does the flower! Im not featured, my character is there, but Im not there, she explained. Sometimes when theres so many of us its like you went, but youre not necessarily shown there as theres so much going on. But I have to say its one of the proudest storylines, even though Im not directly in it, since Ive been on the show.
The way theyve done it makes me very proud of being part of this show, its really awesome.
Colette Mann, who plays Sheila, told us that like Eve, although the Canning matriach wont be seen at the ceremony, called it a huge occasion and called it a great step forwards.
I was around when it was all being shot and to all the art department did a fantastic job, and the wardrobe department and all the creatives – make-up and hair and everything – they just worked their asses off! she said. It was a huge thing. We had such a lot of press at the station when it being shot and lots and lots of interviews with Matt and Takaya.

I think it was a great step forwards and it was a furthering Jason Herbisons cap to do something like that and be the first gay wedding in Australia and so quickly after the Marriage Equality Act went through.
The wedding airs on 3 September and will see Aaron and Davids big day hit with set backs and disasters along the way.
Aarons back pain hes suffered since being injured after Paul Robinson pushed him too hard will threaten to ruin the day, while Susan suddenly dropping out as celebrant will leave them scrambling to find someone else to marry them.
Scenes air at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
