Netflix original flick Bright may have been widely panned by critics, but it seems audiences have flocked to see Will Smith kicking about with orcs, elves and fairies.

David Ayer’s hybrid buddy cop/fantasy flick has pulled in a total audience of over 11 million viewers in the first three days of its release, according to Nielsen (via Variety).

If you need measurement of its popularity, the VOD measurement service states it was less popular than Stranger Things season two (averaging 15.8 million in the first three days), but proved more popular than The Crown’s second season which averaged 3 million US viewers.

It’s worth noting however that Netflix doesn’t release official streaming figures, and has disputed Nielsen estimates in the past.

The flick, starring Will Smith, Joel Edgerton and Noomi Rapace, is set in alternate present day Los Angeles, where humans coexist alongside orcs, elves and fairies in uneasy peace.
