Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan thinks the franchise is missing something very important.
The funny bone.
Yes, thats right, good old Piercey feels the movies have lost the humour.
The 65-year-old Mamma Mia star, who was the face of the spy series in four films from 1995 to 2002, said the 007 hits stopped having fun when it found itself competing against the much more serious Bourne action movie franchise, which stars Matt Damon.
I knew there had been a seismic shift (with films like The Bourne Identity), and little did I know I was going to be part of that in the curtain falling on my contract. I knew they had to make adjustments, Pierce told Rake magazine.
They had strong competition and they have… havent reinvented it, but given it a much more muscular, dynamic twist, he added.

Pierce also took a trip down memory lane referencing the era in which he portrayed the fictional spy – when the whole vibe was seen as more humourous.
He said: When I played him (Bond), you have to let the audience in that this is a fantastic joke.
What I am doing here, jumping off a motorcycle and catching up to a plane, is completely preposterous. But for me you had to let them in.
Bond, who is currently portrayed by Daniel Craig is up for a revamp as the actor is gearing up to hand over the baton to another actor.
And people cant stop speculating on who they think will be the next Bond, with many fingers currently pointing at Idris Elba.
Following some fresh rumours about his casting, Idris sent fans into a frenzy when he tweeted – and later backtracked on – a cryptic post suggesting he could be next Bond.
Last weekend, in a mysterious tweet, the 45-year-old posted a picture of himself on Twitter with the words: My names Elba, Idris Elba.
It sounded suspiciously like the signature quote from the Bond movies, The names Bond, James Bond.
However, hours later – when it appeared a little too late – The Avengers actor tweeted: Dont believe the hype.
But we were all already far too hyped!
What is going on here? Is Idris just messing with our heads for the banter? Ironically, the actors dismissal has not stopped fans online from carrying on with their speculation.

Idriss social media activity comes after James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli said shes open to diversifying the role.

The Daily Star reports that Broccoli had a conversation with director Antoine Fuqua about potentially casting the role with a non-white actor. It reports Broccoli told Fuqua it is time for a person of colour to get the role.
She added that casting an ethnic minority actor as 007 will happen eventually.
Idris could do it if he was in shape, she revealed. You need a guy with a physically strong presence. Idris has that.
