Rana Daggubati joins Housefull 4 post Nana Patekars exit

Rana Daggubati is excited to be part of Housefull 4.

Baahubali fame Rana Daggubati has joined the ensemble cast of Housefull 4, which includes Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde and others. The actor will replace Nana Patekar in the film. This is for the first time that Rana will star in a comedy franchise, and the actor is quite excited about it.

“It is always good to find work outside of Hyderabad, get to learn so much and do so many new things. Ive never been part of a genre like Housefull and its always exciting to work with different genres. Working with Akshay Kumar again (after Neeraj Pandeys 2015 action-spy thriller Baby), Sajid (Nadiadwala) and Farhad (Samji) is something I am really looking forward to,” Rana told Ahmedabad Mirror.

The development comes a few weeks after Nana Patekars exit from the film. The actor had walked out of the Akshay Kumar starrer after being accused of sexual harassment by actor Tanushree Dutta.

“Nanasaheb does not want any inconvenience caused to anyone and hence in the backdrop of false accusations levelled against him, he thought it fit to distance himself with the ongoing project of Housefull,” a statement mentioned.

The film was earlier being directed by Sajid Khan. Now, Housefull 3 director Farhad Samji has taken over the reins of Housefull 4 after Sajid stepped down from the role amid sexual harassment allegations against him.
