Rupert Grint starred in one of Hollywoods biggest movie franchises with Harry Potter but surprisingly, he admits feeling the need to prove himself after the series had wrapped up.

The 30-year-old actor famously played Ron Weasley in the movie adaptation of JK Rowlings beloved novels about the boy wizard, instantly propelling him and his co-stars, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, to super stardom.

His role in the blockbuster franchise has given Rupert an estimated net worth of £28 million and turned him into a household name, but the actor still felt he had more to give.

Opening up about life after HP, Rupert told Radio Times: Ive never really been super-ambitious.

I think theres always been something in me, particularly when I finished Potter, that wants to prove myself, but Im also naturally quite an insecure person anyway.

I think I lost myself a little bit along the way. With the fame, youre almost being the character even when youre not in character.

The British actor also went on to recall an incident when he and his Harry Potter co-stars were chased through the streets of Tokyo by hundreds of children.

Rupert admitted: It was terrifying, absolutely mad. Id never seen anything like it.

It comes after the Snatch actor revealed he is clueless about how much money hes earned from the Harry Potter franchise.

According to Rupert: I actually dont know how much I have. I couldnt even really guess. It doesnt really motivate me too much.
