Vijays Sarkar gets embroiled in plagiarism controversy
In yet another blow to the upcoming Tamil film Sarkar, the South Indian Film Writers Association confirmed that Sarkar is similar to that of Varun Rajendrans Sengol script. The highly anticipated movie has been mired in controversy after Varun Rajendran accused Director AR Murugadoss of plagiarising his script.
In a complaint filed to the association after Sarkars teaser was out, Varun Rajendran claimed that Murugadoss had copied the script of Sengol, and requested the association to investigate. The South Indian film Writers Association put out a statement today stating that after review, the scripts are indeed similar and their support lies with Varun Rajendran.

With Sarkar slated to release this Diwali, the Madras High Court will be hearing the plagiarism case on October 30, this Tuesday. The acclaimed director Murugadoss was accused of plagiarism earlier too by Aramm fame director Gopi Nainar. Gopi claimed that the script of the hit movie Kaththi was similar to the one he had written.
After two blockbuster hits Thupakki and Kaththi, Vijay and Murugadoss are collaborating for the third time with Sarkar. It is one of the most eagerly-awaited films of this year, with its teaser crossing over 25 million views on Youtube. The film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu and Radha Ravi in vital roles.
