Former South Africa wing and World Cup winner Chester Williams has died aged 49.

Reports in South Africa have said that Williams died from a heart attack.

Williams was part of South Africas Rugby World Cup-winning squad in 1995 and played 27 Tests between 1993 and 2000.

Williams was also the only black player in that South Africa squad which beat New Zealand in the final to win the World Cup 24 years ago.

After retiring from the sport, Williams began his coaching career and won the Varsity Shield with the University of the Western Cape in 2017.
