Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s royal wedding is already the invite of the year and now it seems that it may also be the home of the reunion of the year, as the Spice Girls are considering offering to perform at the evening reception.
It is thought that Meghan, 36, was a big fan of the pop band growing up, and Geri Horner believes that they should offer to perform at the reception as the ‘Royal Wedding is a fantastic opportunity’ for a reunion.
‘She has been told that Meghan was a big fan of the Spice Girls,’ a source close to the girls claimed.
‘And the wedding fits in perfectly with Geri’s idea that the reunion should be very British. She sees it as a big part of their identity, and one they should keep.’
Geri, Emma Bunton, Mel Brown, Victoria Beckham, and Mel Chisholm reunited as a fivesome for the first time in years on Friday, posting pictures on social media of their afternoon.
It spurned numerous reports that the girls would be reuniting on stage as well, but after years of rumours we wouldn’t be too quick to get our hopes up – and speaking to The Sun, the insider also admitted that, contrary to what many may think it’s Mel C and not Victoria who is wary about returning to the stage as a group.
‘Victoria is now quite proud of the Spice Girls and their achievements. She feels strongly that if they reunite, they will have to perform. Mel is not so sure she wants to go down that path and will need some persuasion if they are to sing together again,’ the source added.
