A Spiderman spin-off could be underway as Sony are apparently in the works of adapting Silk into a film.
According to Deadline, producer Amy Pascal is in the early stages of developing the comic, which was created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos.
Korean-American superhero Cindy Moon, aka Silk, mad her first appearance in 2014s Spider-Man Vol. 3 #4, and has since been seen in the Original Sin, Spider-Verse and the Silk solo series story arcs.
Shes also debuted in the Marvel films Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War where she was portrayed by Tiffany Espensen.
Just like Peter Parker, the character has a powerful Spider-Sense and can shoot webs out of her fingertips. She also has superhuman speed, strength and stamina.
Basically a female version of Spidey.

Although it has not yet been confirmed, with Tiffanys multiple appearances, it seems likely that she will be taking on the role for Silks solo movie.
But as these rumours started to circulate, it was apparent fans were not impressed with the potential choice of actress, and called out Sony for choosing a girl from Chinese origin rather than a Korean actress.
One wrote: Wonder if theyll keep Tiffany Espensen or actually cast a Korean actress (sic)
Another commented: why now? bc shes supposed to be korean american – koreas big rn. BUT tiffany espensen is NOT of korean descent. shes chinese, so good luck selling this one to s.korea audiences! yknow SK, the fifth biggest consumer of hollywood movies? (sic)
Someone else said: CAST SOMEONE ELSE THO NO ONE WANTS TIFFANY ESPENSEN (sic)
Spiderman has made headlines recently as Wasp costume designer Louis Frogley revealed there will be changes made to his iconic suit.
More: Sony
Talking about Spiderman: Homecoming 2, he said: I am not actually working on that film, but the costumes will have very big changes because, in the film, Spider-Man becomes more like a man and not a teenager.
Metro.co.uk reached out to Sony who said they refuse to comment.
