I’m sure you’ll all find this very shocking, but an NFL head coach thinks quarterback Baker Mayfield is cocky.

NFL reporter Kimberly Jones recently wrote the following about the combine:

Baker Mayfield is one of the more intriguing players in this draft class — and the most polarizing quarterback. As the combine was concluding, I asked a head coach for his biggest overall takeaway. He spotlighted Mayfield, saying he liked him the most on the field … and the least off of it. Another head coach, whose team interviewed Mayfield, rolled his eyes and described the quarterback: “Cocky. Over-the-top cocky.”

I’m shocked! Shocked, I tell you that an NFL coach thinks Baker Mayfield is cocky. This is absolutely the first I’ve ever heard of such a thing. Usually all I hear about is his humility and down to earth attitude on the sidelines. How could this report possibly be true?

Okay, now that I’ve turned the sarcasm off, this is the least surprising report we’ve ever heard about Mayfield. Of course the dude is cocky. He’s a Heisman winning quarterback. They go together hand in hand. That’s just part of football.

His attitude can be a great asset if he finds a way to harness it correctly. I want a guy with some serious fire and swagger. Look no further than Brett Favre if you’re looking for an example of a guy with similar traits who won games.

Of course, it might eat him up if he doesn’t figure out a way control his attitude correctly.
