A teen was arrested after he smashed a window and a neon sign at the Stonewall Inn with a baseball bat, the NYPD said.
William Gomez, 19, smashed in the window and sign around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, leaving the historic gay bar in Greenwich Village with around $6,000 in damage, police said.
Gomez was charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and criminal possession of a weapon, the NYPD said.
Police arent currently investigating the incident as a hate crime.
The Stonewall Inn was dedicated as the first national monument to gay rights in 2016.
The bar didn't immediately respond to request for comment.
