Theres some great new music on the bill this weekend
The Isle of Wight Festival is back with its 50th installment this year, and while revelers will be busy layering themselves in the gold that is the dress up theme to celebrate the golden anniversary and ensuring an alcoholic beverage firmly in hand, the bands will already be hard at it, getting ready to take to the stage.
But, with such a massive headline roster of Kasabian, Depeche Mode, Liam Gallagher and the Killers already dominating the lineup, who should we be checking out further down the bill?

Bang Bang Romeo – Friday

Main stage, 4-4.40pm
This feisty Doncaster three piece have recently been taken in by a posse of American fans, so with world domination within their reach, this is a must see act before its too late. They have just signed a huge international record deal after winning over a loyal legion of fans up and down the UK on tour with This Feeling.
The show is guaranteed to be larger than life thanks to Anastasia, the insatiable female lead singer who will leave you with your jaw on the floor and tears in your eyes.
With unashamedly anthemic choruses aplenty and Anastasia hitting notes you never even knew existed, this, we predict will be a weekend highlight.
Judas – Friday
Big Top, 4.30- 5.05pm
This scouse fronted rock and roll band will take no prisoners and offer a killer live show with sky scraping, catchy choruses and atmospheric crooning. If its a good old rock and roll band youre after, this is it, with all the ingredients of a good indie act; strong songwriting, crisp guitar riffs and more than enough opportunity for a dance floor caper.
Judas are achieving success the old fashioned way; endless touring up and down the country and gaining fans through their love of getting out there and playing live. Join the melee to check out one of the hardest working bands on the scene right now.
Lucie Barat – Saturday

This Feeling stage w/ Pirate Studios and Pretty Green, 1.45pm- 2.10pm
In a male dominated industry, this feisty female is a force to be reckoned with. As the sister of The Libertines Carl Barat, music runs through her veins and via her thought provoking lyrics and crisp synth- pop beats you will be treated to a live music experience with a difference. Mixing spoken word with captivating choruses, its easy to see why her live shows are so popular, having just played a sold out gig at The Great Escape Festival.
She has spent her time up until now playing in bands, having previously recorded with the legendary David Bowie. We expect this solo venture to lead to a meteoric rising so make sure you check her out.
Vida – Saturday
This Feeling stage w/ Pirate Studios and Pretty Green, 10pm – 10.45pm
Harking from Alloa, Scotland, this fun indie five piece describe themselves as having all the best elements of Brit Pop . They will be headlining the This Feeling stage on Saturday night and you can guarantee a massive party is going to ensue. A distilling of Britpop legends from The Verve, Cast, Stone Roses and Oasis, they have the quality songwriting to back them up and are possibly the happiest and most smiley band on the scene, which is nothing short of infectious.
If you want to be taken back to the heady days of musics glorious past and get excited about where its going next, these boys are the ones for you.

Gerry Cinammon – Sunday
Main stage, 1.20pm – 1.55pm
With no record label, no PR backing and no radio play, Gerry Cinnamons music has spoken for itself and he has gone on to achieve status as Scotlands most successful independent artist. A relatable story teller who will reach across generations, this wordsmith will get the crowd going more than any Hogmanay, so get your dancing shoes ready and your vocals warmed up for a good old sing-along.
This will give you an idea of the people-power behind this independent cult figure: one Facebook post from him and in less than 5 minutes he sold out multiple nights at the world famous Barrowland Ballroom, putting him in the hall of fame alongside David Bowie, Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher. This act is not to be missed to get you going on Sunday.
