It’s not just the Korean music industry going global, now the film industry is following suit.
Korean movie The Handmaid has seen a major first for the K-film industry in receiving a nomination for the upcoming Baftas.
The film, directed by Chan Wook, has been nominated in the best non-English film category at the 2018 awards on Sunday February 18.
It is one of five movies to make it into the category, and is up against Elle (France), First They Killed My Father by Angelina Jolie based in Cambodia, Russian movie Loveless, and Salesman from Iran.
The British Academy Film Awards is an annual awards ceremony held by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) that celebrates the best and brightest of the film industry.
