It seems Ruby Roses new movie, The Meg, is terrifying both on and off-screen.
The Australian actress has detailed a frightening experience she had while filming a scene in a swim tank, which resulted in her having to be rescued by divers.
Ruby, 32, plays Jaxx in the anticipated shark attack movie alongside Jason Statham and Bingbing Li.
Although Ruby is a strong swimmer, she did encounter a scary problem due to her costume.
Recalling the terrifying moment to SciFiNow magazine, Ruby explained: It was a scene in which Im in the water and have to swim back to a boat.
My clothing, including a layer of thermals to help with the cold, made it really difficult to swim … everyone loved how it looked and thought I was doing a great job, they didnt realise my shoes had filled up with water and were making me sink to the bottom of the tank we were shooting in.

Fortunately, a group of divers were on-hand to promptly bring Ruby to safety.
The former Orange Is The New Black actress added: The next thing I know, safety divers were grabbing me. I drank a lot of tank water, which I have a feeling is not particularly good for you.
Rainn Wilson, who co-stars with Ruby as Jack Morris, revealed that the cast had to undergo brutal training in order to be competent in filming the underwater scenes for hours.
The 52-year-old actor said: We had to swim through a hoop, participate in swim relay races, pull ourselves out of the water and climb various ropes and ladders in the water. It was a great, but brutal, workout that gave us the skills and stamina to be comfortable in the water for the filming.

Rainn continued: When everyone begins the day, theyre saying, Woo, this is great, were on a boat! Weve got sandwiches!” Then after about four or five hours of filming, were thinking, “OK, Im ready to go in.”
Fortunately, we werent on the high seas and didnt experience big waves. We were in harbours and bays. No one got sea sick.
Hats off to them all!
The Meg will chomp its way through cinemas from 10th August.
