Imagine Thor with a gun – would things have ended differently in Avengers: Infinity War?

We all know nothing good happened at the end of the Avengers film – unless you were on Thanos side – as he completed his mission to turn half the universe into literal dust.

It was sad, basically.

But how would you feel knowing that the God of Thunder, played by Chris Hemsworth, almost had a very different weapon of choice according to some unused Thor concept art?

In case you missed it: Thor: Ragnarok the superheros long lost sister Hela destroyed his weapon and he was forced to find a new weapon in Infinity War to help him take on Thanos.

The moody hero eventually headed out to Nivadellir to creator his Stormbreaker axe.

However, he would have brandished a gun if one version of the concept art came to pass.

Imagine a world in which Thanos was taken down by a bullet – maybe fans would stop blaming Star-Lord for the universes defeat.

Fans may even point their fingers elsewhere hearing that even the directors of the film are blaming Thor as he had an opportunity to kill Thanos but chose to brag instead.

Joe Russo told ComicBook.com: I would argue that the fan base could be equally upset with Thor, who chose to throw that axe into Thanos chest and not his head. Because he wanted to tell Thanos that he got his revenge.

He added: Had he gone for a kill shot, that snap would not have happened. These are choices that characters who are feeling immense pain make and hopefully, the audience can learn to empathize with those characters because they can grow through stories.

Stories can teach us things and that we should try to see every choice from the perspective of the character that made the choice.

Will Thanos get another shot in Avengers 4? We will have to wait until next year to find out ….
