Chelsea have announced that Tiemoue Bakayoko has returned to former club Monaco on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy set at £38m.
The 25-year-old joined Chelsea from Monaco for a fee worth £40m in 2017 and made 43 appearances under Antonio Conte, winning the FA Cup in the process.
However, he struggled to recapture the form of his first Monaco spell during his time at Stamford Bridge and spent the 2018-19 season on loan at AC Milan.
Although the France international impressed at San Siro, Milans financial situation meant that they were unable to make his move permanent.
Bakayoko featured for Chelsea during pre-season but failed to sufficiently impress Frank Lampard and was linked with moves to both Galatasaray and PSG prior to re-joining Monaco.
Monaco will be hoping that Bakayoko can rediscover the form that made him an integral member of their team that won Ligue 1 and reached the Champions League semi-final in 2016-17.

After narrowly avoiding relegation to Ligue 2 last season, Monaco have embarked on an ambitious summer recruitment drive with Bakayoko becoming their ninth signing of the window.
