2017 was definitely Tiffany Haddish’s year – and judging by her appearance at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards last night, 2018 could follow suit.

The Girls Trip star completely took over the awards show at celebrity hotspot Tao Downtown, winning Best Supporting Actress for her role as Dina in the comedy.

Tiffany slayed the red carpet in a navy silk dress with a hip-high slit, showing off legs for days as she worked the cameras.

And her night got even better inside the ceremony, as the 38-year-old was honoured by the NYFCC for her hilarious performance as wild and reckless party girl Dina.

It seems Tiffany took a leaf out of Dina’s book and hit the stage with a cocktail – ‘I’ve had two, and I do feel like magic’ – for a 20 minute speech that left the audience in hysterics.

The actress began: ‘I want to look at the award, and make sure they spelled my name right… [Looks] It’s right.

‘First, I want to thank god, because without god my Mom and Daddy wouldn’t have put their two uglies together and made me.’

Tiffany went on to thank the critics, before warning them that there were more stars like her on their way to their big breaks.

She said: ‘If you say something, thank you. I don’t care if it’s positive or negative I appreciate you. I’m glad you see me, because it’s been so many years when nobody saw me. When you’re a little kid going through the system you wonder, “does anybody even know I’m alive?”

‘To be able to be this example to so many people like me, that you guys have no clue about, but they’re coming because I keep the fucking door open.’

Tiffany also discussed a deleted scene from Girls Trip, which she claims was left out because producers were worried women would try it and get them sued.

The scene involved Dina promising her friend that she would carve their name into their cheating man’s genitals, before telling them to ‘keep her name out of other bitches’ mouths’.

Following Tiffany’s critically acclaimed role in Girls Trip, she landed a starring role opposite Tracy Morgan on upcoming sitcom The Last O.G., which will air this year, and will also star in Kevin Hart comedy Night School in 2018.
