Australian man Matthew McKay got 20 months in jail after stabbing his friend over a breach in golf etiquette.
Golf Digest recently reported the following:
Mr. McKays friends claim McKay was intoxicated, “damaging the greens, scratching one with a flag and stomping golf balls into another.”
When they pointed out McKays breach of etiquette, he stormed off the course. He soon returned with a Smith and Wesson knife and attacked his buddies. Although he swung and missed at one of his friends, he struck another, Simon Mudd, in the thigh. He hit an artery, an injury so severe that Mudd was airlifted to a hospital, where he received a major blood transfusion and emergency surgery.
This is such a great golf story that its not even funny. Hardos who take golf rules seriously are the worst. They are the absolute worst. All those idiots treat every stroke like theyre playing in The Masters.
See, life and golf would all be much easier if everybody just played through my viewpoint. You shouldnt even keep score if youre playing with buddies. Get a few cases of beer, leave the weapons in the car, have some fun and dont stab people. I know it sounds like a really difficult formula to follow, but I promise that its really not overly hard to accomplish.
I havent been sober during a round of golf in several years, and Ive also never left the course without having a good time. Shockingly, nobody has also ever almost been killed. I almost took a ball to the genitals about a year ago, but thats a story for a different time.
Grab your clubs, grab a beer and just have a good time. Dont be out here almost killing people.
