Trump visit is closing these LA and Beverly Hills streets

LOS ANGELES — As is customary with presidential visits, motorists in the West Los Angeles and Beverly Hills areas can anticipate traffic congestion Friday as President Donald Trump attends a campaign fundraiser.

While not providing specifics about Trumps travel plans, Los Angeles and Beverly Hills police warned motorists to expect delays in select areas.

Motorists were advised to avoid the following areas:

— From 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and again from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.: The area around Bundy Drive between Airport Avenue and West Pico Boulevard, in the vicinity of Santa Monica Airport

— From 3 to 4 p.m. and again from 6 to 7 p.m.: The area around Sunset Boulevard between Sepulveda Boulevard and Hillcrest Drive

To assist the public in avoiding possible traffic congestion during todays visit by the President of the United States, the following areas of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills should be avoided this afternoon/evening when possible to prevent travel delays for community members. pic.twitter.com/n3AmiirGfv

Meanwhile, Sunset Boulevard will be closed between Foothill and Hillcrest roads from 1 to 7 p.m. During that same time, Foothill, Elm and Maple drives will be closed between Sunset and Elevado Avenue.

No bus routes will be impacted by the road closures, police said, although Metro officials warned riders to anticipate some delays on the Westside due to the traffic impacts.

Trump is expected to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport mid-afternoon Friday, then depart from LAX bound for Las Vegas Friday evening.
