Lizzos Truth Hurts just broke the record for the longest time at No. 1 by a solo female rapper and we have no choice but to stan harder.
With Truth Hurts landing a fourth week atop the Billboard Hot 100 Lizzo has made history in the process.
The previous record for a solo female rapper was held by Cardi B whose song Bodak Yellow (Money Moves) stayed at the top of the charts for three weeks in October 2017.
Prior to that Lauryn Hills solo rap “Doo Wop [That Thing],” was number one for two weeks in 1998.
Truth Hurts also takes over atop the Radio Songs chart, marking the first rap song to top the tally in over a year.
According to Billboard, among all rap No. 1s by female artists, Truth Hurts claims the longest command in over five years, since Iggy Azalea spent seven weeks at No. 1 with “Fancy,” featuring Charli XCX, in 2014.

The 31-year-old is rightly celebrating her success sharing her feelings in a post next to a young Lizzo.
She wrote on Instagram: Truth Hurts is officially the longest solo female rap #1 in history. I fell in love with music when I was 9 years old… I know its cliche but music was literally my boyfriend. I had no idea our love affair would take me this far.
If this lil Lizzo only knew all that she would accomplish when she picked up that flute, or wrote songs in her room, or forced her friends to make girlbands.. its just so humbling to know it was all worth it. Dont run away from what your heart wants. Follow that bitch to your destiny.
