Known for adapting video games for film, Uwe Boll isnt too happy with Warner Bros. and New Lines upcoming action pic Rampage starring Dwayne Johnson. The German director released a Rampage trilogy of his own starting in 2009 and in a statement released on his website, it is said he is pursuing legal action against the studio for “using his brand.”
Boll released his first Rampage movie in 2009 which was followed by 2014s Rampage: Capital Punishment and 2016s Rampage: President Down. The movies do not share the storyline of Warner Bros adaptation of the monster sci-fi video game, but Boll says that the new movie will “shrink” his brand and the money he can make with his future Rampage movies. He also adds, “It also confuses the audience!”
He is very aware that the Johnson-fronted action pic has nothing to with his trilogy, but he is still demanding that Warner Bros. change the title of the movie. His statement also blasts the movie industry saying that indie movies are dead and only “big players are making all the money.” From there, he doesnt mince words and continues to drag the Brad Peyton-directed Rampage, saying it looks like Jumanji 2 and refers to it as “typical feelgood, popcorn bullsh*t” movie. And just when you think it couldnt get any more interesting, he talks about how blockbuster films are “helping the military industrial complex” and then has a few words about Trump.

We are living now in a world where Independent Movies are dead and the big players only are making all the money. That they then use developed brands and ideas from established series such as my Rampage films in order to make even more money is unfair but typical. The new RAMPAGE movie will shrink my brand and my revenues I can make in the future with my RAMPAGE movies. It also confuses the audience! I want that WARNERS change the title, especially because the new movie has nothing to do with a RAMPAGE and looks more like Jumanji 2 and is one of those typical feelgood, popcorn bullshit movies that the studios use to brainwash America even more! All these kind of movies including Transformers, Avengers are helping the military industrial complex in America to win and have retards like Trump be American President who would say that the earth is flat as soon they think they can benefit from this!
