This is the day we Brits celebrate independent music shops, which are valiantly fighting against the corporate giants of digital music.
If there is a day to treat yourself to some traditional formats, like vinyl, cassette and even the CD, this is the day.
This year the official ambassador of the festival is Rag N Bone man and hes recorded two songs direct to vinyl for the occasion.
Music lovers have rebelled against the apparent dominance of digital by returning to record players and vinyl in the past year.
Vinyl records have made up a whopping 82 per cent of local store sales in the last year, while the cassette has jumped 53 per cent.

Radioheads OK Computer has been named the biggest-selling album of the past year in record stores, which may be because its been re-released to mark its 20th anniversary.
Record Store Day is marked by some special releases from big artists, plus several events around the country.

There are things going on pretty much everywhere, from Liverpool to Brixton, Brighton to Newcastle. Several events are happening across London.
Most stores are holding all-day gigs featuring local or international artists and DJs, ending late.
BBC 6 Music is focusing on the festival all day, with presenters fully curating their shows according to what theyve bought in record stores over the years.
Meanwhile the first ever RSD competition to find the best unsigned act has been won by Portsmouth soul band Barbudo.
