More than 20 years afterTupac Shakur was fatally gunned down, his death is still clouded in mystery, with new theories emerging every few months.

Now one of the rap icons friends has come forward to make an explosive claim about what really happened when the rapper was fatally shot in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Dear Mama hitmaker died on 13 September 1996, days after he was targeted in a drive by shooting as he travelled in a car with Death Row Records founder Suge Knight following a Mike Tyson fight at the MGM Grand.

Napoleon, a former member of rap group the Outlawz, has claimed that one of his band mates was a key witness to the shooting, in a video posted to YouTube.

According to the rapper, Yaki Kadafi – who was also a member of Tupacs entourage – made eye contact with the assailant moments before he opened fire.

Kadafi actually seen the person who killed Pac, Napoleon said.

He said the guy looked right at him, he pulled the arm out and saw the shooting you know what I mean.

The guy looked at Kadafi and Kadafi looked back at him.

And Kadafi didnt expect, he didnt know what was about to happen until he seen an arm come out the window.

Napoleon, real name Mutah Wassin Shabazz Beale, also rubbished rumours that Compton Crips gangster Orlando Baby Lane Anderson responsible for the slaying.

I dont think it was Baby Lane [Orlando Anderson], the one who Kadafi seen, he said.

Sadly, Yaki took what he had witnessed to the grave as he died after a reported accidental shooting in New Jersey just two months later.

Napoleon claimed that the 19-year-old didnt tell the police because where we come from in that particular time as Kadafi said to the police, he didnt want to participate with the police.

In 2015, The Mirror reported that terminally ill former policeman David Myers said, on his deathbed, that he helped the hip-hop star fake his death, being paid a staggering $1.5 million (£960,000) for his troubles.

Earlier this month, Suge Knights son appeared to support the theory when he claimed Tupac is still alive and is living in Malaysia in a series of Instagram posts.

The first post contained only the words Tupac is alive, while a follow-up showed a screenshot of a text conversation where an unknown person had messaged Knight saying: You said to much. Time for you to go.

The truth will be out and Im not going anywhere. He then wrote alongside a series of photos of Tupac with 50 Cent and with Beyoncé.
