YouTuber BrettDomino is coming for Ed Sheerans brand after he seems to have cracked his songwriting secret.
You might be wondering how Ed manages to create hit after hit with little more than his acoustic guitar and ginger mop.
However, the YouTuber – real name Rob J Madin – seems to have cracked it as a result of an in-depth study of Ed Sheerans songwriting techniques.
Ed Sheeran is obviously a big fan of using the acoustic guitar, Brett explains, as he said he learnt four guitar chords to nail Eds technique.
Ive been listening to a lot of Ed Sheerans big tunes, he added, pointing out that many of Eds songs focus on three notes.
Needless to say, use them three notes for your hook.
Then, it was time for the actual writing.
Ed Sheeran uses a hell of a lot of words, particularly in the verses, often crams in quite a lot of fast-paced words, delivered in a sort of hip…hip-rap style, Brett advised, uncertainly.

Showing off a word cloud he generated of Eds songs, he made sure to stick to the most popular words, including love, wanna and eyes.
Deep stuff.
Weve got an acoustic guitar, four chords, three key notes and a word cloud of Ed Sheeran lyrics, Brett summed up. Put it all together into a folky pop song with elements of RnB and youve got yourself your very own Ed Sheeran hit.
Performing his song Bad Lips, we can only describe it as a triumph.
Meanwhile, Eds musical genius has been questioned recently, as he faces court claims that he copied Marvin Gayes hit Lets Get It On.
The 27-year-olds bid to request a lawsuit over his own single, Thinking Out Loud, has been rejected, meaning a jury will decide whether or not he is guilty of copying the song, which was released in 1973. It has been reported District Judge Louis Stanton said there were substantial similarities between several of the two works musical elements.

According to BBC, his defence team has argued Thinking Out Loud includes sombre, melancholic tones, addressing long-lasting romantic love, while Lets Get It On is regarded as a sexual anthem. However, Judge Stanton has stated listeners could see both tracks having the same aesthetic appeal.
