We were so sad to hear that Dolores O’Riordan, the lead singer of The Cranberries, died suddenly today, January 15th. She was 46 years old. The cause of her death is unknown at this time. The band’s publicist released the following statement about her passing:
“Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old. The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time. Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”
So many people all over the world are feeling the sting of this sudden loss. Twitter is full of sweet tributes to the beloved musician, as well as lovely anecdotes from those who were lucky enough to meet her and work with her. Fans and celebs like James Corden, Hozier, and the Irish band Kodaline alike have tweeted not just condolences, but evidence that Dolores O’Riordan was truly as awesome as you think she was. The world was definitely lucky to have her, and our hearts go out to everybody mourning her death.
