Coronation Street spoilers: Jim McDonald returns amid devastating illness story for Emma Brooker?

Steve comforts Emma (Picture: ITV)
Emma Brooker (Alexandra Mardell) has had plenty to deal with in Coronation Street this past year —between the death of her dad to discovering that her real father is none other then Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) — but could there be more heartache ahead for the character as she falls ill in a devastating new storyline?

Emmas world came crashing down earlier this year when she learned that her dad was dying. If that wasnt a hard enough pill for her to swallow, her dads death also brought with it the shocking revelation that she wasnt actually his biological daughter — meaning that mum Fiona (Angela Griffin) had lied to her all these years.

Audrey (Sue Nicholls) put two and two together when she realised that Fiona was Emmas mum, and thus it soon came to light that Steve is the young girls real father. Emma struggled to process this news at first, but her and Steve have finally bonded. However, things could be set to take a devastating turn in the coming weeks, as Emma fall ill.

MP Tracy Brabin, who took over Jo Coxs seat in Batley and Spen, made an impassioned plea to Boris Johnson last night when the Prime Minister addressed the house after Parliament reconvened.

In a stormy session, Ms Brabin urged Mr Johnson to take greater care with his words at a time when political tensions are running high.

As the Brexit process continues, heres a look at how Ms Brabin came to take over from Ms Cox and her past as a popular actor on Coronation Street.

Who is Tracy Brabin?
Born in West Yorkshire, Ms Brabin won her first major acting role when she played Sandra, a clumsy waitress, opposite David Jason in A Bit of a Do in 1989.

She joined Coronation Street in 1994, portraying the turbulent times of Tricia Armstrong, who spent a week in prison after failing to pay her TV licence.

In a timely twist, Ms Brabins final appearance on Coronation street came on the day Tony Blair entered Downing Street in May 1997.

Having publicly declared her support for Labour at the time, Ms Brabin continued to enthusiastically champion the party following her departure from the soap.

When did Tracy Brabin replace Jo Cox?
Ms Brabin supported Ms Cox in her campaign against the closure of local libraries following her selection as the Labour candidate for the Batley and Spen constituency in 2015.

The MP won the seat with a majority of more than 6,000, but was murdered outside a library where she had been due to hold a surgery in 2016.

In the aftermath of a national outpouring of grief, Ms Brabin was selected as the Labour candidate for the area, winning the subsequent election with an increased majority of around 10,000 in October 2016.

What did MP Tracy Brabin say to Boris Johnson in Parliament?
Ms Brabin called upon Mr Johnson to end rhetoric that had implied his political opponents were treacherous.

Speaking in the house, she argued: All of these words are suggesting that because we disagree with him, we are traitors, we are not patriots. Nothing could be further from the truth.

This may be a strategy to set the people against the establishment. I would like to gently suggest that he is the establishment – we are people.

As the woman who has taken over a seat that was left by our dear friend Jo Cox, can I ask him, in all honesty, as a human being, to please, please moderate his language so that we all feel secure when we arRead More – Source
