When did Tracy Brabin replace Jo Cox?

Ms Brabin supported Ms Cox in her campaign against the closure of local libraries following her selection as the Labour candidate for the Batley and Spen constituency in 2015.

The MP won the seat with a majority of more than 6,000, but was murdered outside a library where she had been due to hold a surgery in 2016.

In the aftermath of a national outpouring of grief, Ms Brabin was selected as the Labour candidate for the area, winning the subsequent election with an increased majority of around 10,000 in October 2016.
