Ariana Grande Busts Out Her Flawless Celine Dion Impression to Recap Titanic

Celebrities

Its always a good day when Ariana Grande breaks out her impeccable Celine Dion impression. The pint-sized singer has already proven multiple times on The Tonight Show and Saturday Night Live that she can do a great Queen Celine—and on Monday night, she brought her act to The Late Late Show, when she and James Corden re-enacted all of Titanic in just 13 songs. Including, yes, “My Heart Will Go On.”

Corden has launched several viral segments since he took over The Late Late Show, including “Carpool Karaoke,” “Drop the Mic,” and “Crosswalk the Musical,” but another of his less famed recurring bits is one in which he creates jukebox soundtracks using popular music—usually for vaguely titled projects, like his Anna Kendrick collaboration “Soundtrack to a Love Story” in 2016, or the Anne Hathaway duet “Soundtrack to a Rom-Com.” This time, though, the bit got more specific.

Song selections included “Come Sail Away,” “Just Dance,“ and “The Shape of You.” The bit also included unexpected picks—like a delightfully silly “Never Gonna Give You Up” excerpt, sung right as the two find themselves stranded in the water. The highlight, though, is certainly when Grande walks onto the stage to perform “My Heart Will Go On,” showing off her powerful pipes. Soon enough, Corden joins her to provide the harmonies—and together, the two pull off a remarkably solid cover.

As for how Celine Dion might react? Grande said in 2016 that Dions response to her mimicry was astoundingly positive: “She was like, When I saw you, I peed!” Heres hoping this latest encore draws a similarly, uh . . . positive . . . reaction.
