The women of Hollywood have spoken: Time’s Up. On January 1st, in a front-page story of The New York Times, powerful women in the industry announced their plan to fight sexual harassment once and for all. Tonight, the Times’s Up movement will take center stage at the 2018 Golden Globes. Actresses like Michelle Williams and Emma Watson are bringing activists with them to the Golden Globes as their dates. Many are wearing all black to the ceremony in solidarity. And some are raising awareness by bravely sharing their own personal stories. One of those women is Bella Thorne.

Last month, Bella Thorne shared that she’s a sexual assault survivor on Twitter. At the time, she didn’t reveal many details beyond tweeting “Yeah I was” and “The world can be a sick place sometimes.” But now, as part of the Time’s Up movement, Bella Thorne is ready to speak up. She opened up on social media on Sunday, January 7th, just a few hours before the Golden Globes.

“I was sexually abused and physically growing up from the day I can remember till I was 14..when I finally had the courage to lock my door at night and sit by it. All damn night. Waiting for someone to take advantage of my life again,” Thorne wrote on Instagram. “Over and over I waited for it to stop and finally it did. But some of us aren’t as lucky to get out alive. Please today stand up for every soul Mistreated.”

Bella Thorne also opened up to her Twitter followers.

“I never knew what was right or wrong growing up,” Thorne tweeted. “I didn’t know the person sneaking into my bed room at night was a bad person.”

We stand with you, Bella.

It’s incredibly powerful and inspirational to see so many women supporting the Time’s Up movement. But at the same time, it’s also heartbreaking. Our hearts are with Bella Thorne and our message is clear: Time’s Up.
