Bob Arum has rubbished Deontay Wilders suggestion that Tyson Fury should step aside and allow him a unification fight against Andy Ruiz Jr. if the Mexican defends his belts.
The WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight champion will take on Anthony Joshua once again, this time in Saudi Arabia on December 7, while WBC champ Wilder has yet to set a date for his own rematch against Luis Ortiz later this year.
If stablemate Ruiz wins again, Wilder claimed this week that he would want [Fury] to step aside so he could unify the division, even hinting that the Gypsy King would be alright with that.
But Arum, who co-promotes Fury, has rubbished Wilders suggestion and insists their highly anticipated rematch will go ahead as planned in February next year.

Asked about Wilders comments and whether the plan was still for the rematch to take place at the start of 2020, Arum told World Boxing News: That is the plan. Yeah, I read that [Wilders comments].

Obviously, theres a contract and I dont know [if he thinks thats possible]. Wilder says a lot of things that he really doesnt mean just for effect. But that fight is already in the books.
Fury takes on Otto Wallin on September 14 and Arum confirmed the bout would be the Brits last before his rematch with Wilder, despite Fury having previously intimated he would fight again in December.
