The premiere of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again was a star-studded affair.

Lily James and Amanda Seyfried walked down the red carpet along with Cher at Londons Hammersmith Apollo.

The long-awaited prequel comes ten years after the original smashed box office numbers and gained a permanent position in peoples hearts.

James wore a stunning strapless floor-length gown and deep, ivory satin shoes. She seemed to be enjoying herself as she posed for photographs, with her boyfriend Matt Smith studiously waiting for her in the background.

She plays Donna, the lead character whose journey viewers follow in a series of flashbacks.

Firth told The Hollywood News: When youre trying to generate fun, youve got to have fun. But its not that easy to achieve in reality, because filming is not a spontaneous process. You repeat a lot, you wait a lot – its a proper days work.

I think the secret has been the affection everybody has for one another and the enthusiasm. You know, when you have about 100 people … its quite hard to get a crowd of so enthusiastic people.
