Claire Foy Drops That Shes Met Queen Elizabeth II on S.N.L.

Claire Foy, who might be getting some awards recognition for her role as Janey Armstrong in First Man in the near future and recently honed her action chops in The Girl in the Spiders Web, hosted Saturday Night Live on Saturday, another addition to her growing resumé.

Foys opening monologue gave The Crown superfans some much wanted gossip about Foys real relationship with Queen Elizabeth II, who she played in two seasons of the Netflix period piece. While Foys time playing the Queen might be up, she used her opening to make jokes about her role in First Man and then addressing that yes, she has in fact met the Queen.

Foys opener revolved around meeting the Queen at an event at Buckingham Palace, getting mileage out of her anxiety about meeting the monarch, a stressful situation even without The Crown connection. But turns out, spoiler alert, Foy met the Queen three years before her now infamous role—a real royal bait and switch.
