Connie Britton Will Reportedly Return to American Horror Story

Celebrities

Looks like the Harmons will have a part to play in the Apocalypse after all. Both Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott, who played Vivien and Ben Harmon in American Horror Storys first season, are reportedly returning for Season 8.

According to TheWrap, both Britton and McDermott are filming scenes for Apocalypse on location at the Murder House set. Their casting has yet to be officially announced, but it seems likely that the two will reprise their Season 1 roles, since this season will likely center on Viviens now-adult son, Michael, and the end of days hes prophesied to oversee. (For those who need a reminder, both Vivien and Ben were dead by the end of Murder House; they currently reside in the house as ghosts, who have vowed to keep their tragic fate from befalling other would-be buyers.)

Britton has not returned to the series since Season 1, making this another grand return for a season that will also bring back the long-absent A.H.S. star Jessica Lange. McDermott came back for Season 2, Asylum, as Johnny Morgan, the product of Dr. Oliver Thredsons (Zachary Quinto) rape of Lana Winter (Sarah Paulson).

Apocalypse will be a crossover season, mashing up elements of A.H.S. Seasons 1 and 3, Murder House and Coven. As such, most of the original casts from each season are returning, including stars like Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters, and more. With the Harmons set to return, its fair to wonder whether some of Murder Houses other ghosts might return as well. Could we, for instance, also see Quinto stage his first return to A.H.S. since Asylum? Its probably a long shot—but at this point, we wouldnt rule out any A.H.S. fans fever dream.
