Abi Franklin is driven to the brink of self destruction in tonights Coronation Street.
Abi hasnt settled into her new job at Streetcars and its starting to show. Steve is getting to the end of his tether with her as shes rude to customers, impatient and cant seem to get the hang of the computer system. Will he be forced to sack her before shes even completed her first week?
Its all because the struggling mum has other things on her mind – she confides in Seb that she has discovered that the twins foster parents are taking them to Lapland for Christmas. Theres no way she could do the same for them and it makes her come to a startling realisation – she thinks its proof they are way better off without her.
She cancels her visit with them and turns to the only thing she finds comfort in – vodka.
Drinking herself into a stupor, she sits and watches as the twins happily play in their foster parents garden.
In her drunk state, Abi leaves a voicemail for Tracy begging her to help, so she rushes to find her friend. But Tracy finds Abi unconscious in the street – is she too late?
She calls an ambulance and Seth arrives just as the paramedics load Abi into the vehicle. Hes beside himself as he reveals to Tracy his mums life has imploded since she was accused of tampering with Michelles car.
Tracy is eaten up by the guilt of what shes done to her friend, but will she come clean?
