Theres trouble brewing for Audrey Roberts as her old sparring partner and on/off pal Claudia Colby is on her way back to Coronation Street – and their snippy relationship could be cut to shreds (so sorry!).
With Audrey moping because Maria Connor has deserted her, Claudia rocks up and cant help gloating about how well her business is doing and how she is planning to expand her empire and open up more franchised salons. And she soon has her eye on Maria to run one!
Rula Lenska, who plays her, told Metro.co.uk: Basically, its the battle of the hairdressers. Shes now suddenly flying quite high and she does poach Maria. Claudia has got several new franchises opening. Im not quite certain whats going to happen after that. I know that the delectable Lewis is coming back. I believe that the relationship is going to be rekindled but I really dont know. Im hoping I might meet a nice, tall, dark, handsome stranger and there could be a romantic episode for Claudia. Its all in the lap of the writers.
Shes quite catty with her remarks that some salons are the future and others just arent. Thats just her nature. I dont think she intends to hurt Audrey. Later on when we have these longer discussions about should she or shouldnt she get back with Lewis then you see much more the real side of Claudia and the caring side of her.

Im feeling really honoured that Id been asked back, and really hoping – because you only get two or three scripts at a time, so you have no idea where the storylines are going to lead – and really, really hoping that they would develop the relationship between Claud and Aud.
To my delight, my next few episodes which Ive just been given, are going in that direction. So my determination is to stamp Claudia on Corrie and Corrie on Claudia, so that she will last and this delicious relationship is allowed to blossom.
Confirming that she would love to expand her role beyond her initial 25 episode return, she added: Id love to do a year or a couple of years and get embroiled in the family of Coronation Street. Already now Ive had dealings and scenes with people who I had no contact with before. So, its looking good.
