There is heartbreak in store for Gemma Winter tonight in Coronation Street as the truth dawns on her about her boyfriend Henry Newton after she discovers that he is faking his injury sustained at the Rovers. And with the information that he also considered stealing from her close friend Rita Tanner, her stomach turns and she is left with a decision to make.

Henry is in a desperate situation as thugs hired by his ex Cressidas family are chasing him down for £20k towards the wedding he walked out on. Penniless, Henry plans to sue Jenny and Johnny Connor after he pretended to break his arm in the pub cellar.

But Gemma knows that without the insurance in place, Jenny and Johnny could lose their new business and after Henry admits that he is making up his injury, she is not keen on betraying her friends – even though Henry pleads with her that he could be killed if he doesnt pay off the debt.

Henry tells Gemma that once they have done this, they can get on with their life together but Gemma is left in a dilemma and knows deep down that she cant go along with this – especially as he nearly stole from Rita.

The scenes will lead to George Banks exit as Henry as he filmed his final block several weeks ago – so it seems inevitable that Gemma is going to be left alone again.

But what will Henrys fate be?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday 27th August at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
