Liz McDonald paid the price for reporting back to Johnny Connor in Coronation Street – and viewers believed that she deserved everything that she got as she faced being sacked from her post in the medical centre for breaching patient confidentiality.
After Susie fell off the settee and had a minor bump to the head, Eva Price rushed her to the medical centre where Dr Gaddas examined her and revealed all was okay. But a concerned Liz went to Johnny and told him that she thought he had a right to know that his granddaughter had been in an accident.
He was straight onto the warpath and rang up social services to report Eva as not taking proper care of her child and Eva was stunned when a social worker came round to check on her. After the social worker deemed there to be no worrying issue, Eva was determined to find out who reported her.

Johnny wasted no time in owning up and told her he wouldnt stop until he proved she was an unfit mother and when he revealed details of the accident he couldnt have known, Eva sussed Lizs involvement and demanded that Moira Pollock sacked her.
Liz also lost her job at the Rovers as Toyah Battersby had no mercy – but viewers had no sympathy.

Even Beverley Callard, who plays her, couldnt defend her alter egos lapse of judgement and agreed with the calls for her character to be dismissed.
Viewers will discover in Fridays episode that it may not be good news for Liz concerning her job at the medical centre – and while Johnny is sorry for her losing her job, will it finally open her eyes to the fact that she needs to back away from him especially when he is in such a self destructive mood?
