Set in a small town in London, Drama is an engaging movie that is filled with a lot of funny and heart-warming moments and a tinge of seriousness. Director Ranjith and Mohanlal have delivered a movie that meets all the expectations of the audience.

The movie follows the events that unravel in the wake of the demise of Rosamma John Chacko (Arundathi Nag). The responsibility to host the funeral service is undertaken by Dixon Lopez Funeral Services run by Lopez (Dileesh Pothan) and Raju (Mohanlal). Ranjith takes a satirical approach to the narration as the path leading to the funeral service is laden with many challenges. After a long time, Mohanlal has played a full-fledged comedy role that is marked by mischievousness and a string of lies. A wife-fearing husband, Raju has a kind heart that strives to fulfill the dreams of helpless people.

HOT DEALS

The movie deals with a very serious subject, death, in a very humorous way. Even as the movie gets predictable, it manages to keep the audience engaged during the majority of its runtime. It also drives home an important social message. And all the credit goes to an engaging screenplay, which makes a familiar story enjoyable.

More than story, the performances of the star cast lifts up the movie. Ranjith understands that it takes a team of seasoned performers to make the comedy work in such a gloomy setting. Every actor in the movie, including Arundathi Nag, Asha Sarath, Shyamaprasad, Johny Antony, Dileesh Pothan, Renji Panicker, Tini Tom, Kaniha and Subi Suresh, have performed their given roles convincingly. Apart from Mohanlals Raju and Baiju Santhoshs Podiyan, it is Johny Antony as Anto that leave us in splits. Composer Bijibal and editor Sandeep Nandakumar have also done a very convincing job.
