Mick and Linda have been through quite a lot in EastEnders over this past couple of years, but theres seemingly more heartache ahead for the much-loved couple, as boss Jon Sen has revealed the pair will feature in a huge upcoming storyline.
Living in Albert Square is a tough task for anyone to undertake but, for Mick and Linda, its been particularly trying as of late. With Linda worrying about Ollie, Mick has done everything he can to ease his wifes stress but, in doing so, hes taken it all on himself — much to the detriment of his own health.
Under Lindas guidance, Mick recently sought medical advice and, as a result, his panic attacks have somewhat eased. However, in spite of this, it appears as if the pair will have more tribulations to overcome in the near future.
When teasing what viewers can look forward to over the coming months, Jon Sen told Metro.co.uk: Im really excited about a Carter story that we have on the table. Obviously the stress of what Lindas going through in terms of her response to Ollie and his assessment — and his diagnosis.

Jon continued: The stress of that and also Micks anxiety as well — the panic attacks that hes been having. All that stress piles on the Carters. Thats a story to look out for.
Given everything that the Carters have gone through in recent weeks, it was inevitable that the stress would take its toll on the pair.
Its recently been announced that, with the pressures piling on, Linda will turn to alcohol, so its likely that this upcoming Carter storyline that Jons referring to is, in fact, Lindas alcoholism.
