Have I Got News For You is getting a little injection of EastEnders Danny Dyer.

The actor is going from dealing with the politics of the Carter family to the politics of the country having allegedly been signed up to present the BBCs current affairs show.

Its thought Danny has been recruited more accessible after an endless stream of posh presenters, with the show previously having hosts like Jeremy Clarkson, Jo Brand and Ed Balls.

Producers are said to have been impressed by his everyman approach, probably aided by the fact he made a legend of himself by appearing on Good Evening Britain and calling David Cameron a twat, and the show will air next month.

Beeb bosses think he makes dull topics accessible, and they think hell do a good job at holding the fort on Have I Got News For You.

They added to The Sun: All being well, hell front the show next month and the public will get more of his succinct views on the state of Britain.

Hes proven a popular presenter of late, having left viewers in stitches with his appearance on Gogglebox, with his musing on how sheep cant wank because theyve got hooves and getting wound up over people knowing answers on University Challenge. He was also announced as the new face of the BBC history series A Right Royal Family.
