Pregnant with Alfie Moons baby and living with his wife Kat, EastEnders Hayley Slater is feeling the pressure as keeping the secret of her babys paternity continues to weigh on her. After drinking heavily, binding her stomach and considering ending it all, the other Slaters are questioning whether Hayley should keep the baby at all.

Upset when a social worker contacts her to discuss what happened last week, Hayley is convinced that Jean – who has been trying to help by gathering together baby things and supporting Hayley – is behind it. Despite having opened up to the social worker, in the moment Hayley seems ready to attack Jean, prevented only by the entrance of Stacey and Kat, who, its revealed, was the one to call social services.

Kat tries to talk things out, but the tempers of the two hot headed women erupt into a massive argument.

Later, with Hayley pushed out to stay at the Ahmeds, Jean convices Kat to go and make amends. Once there, she sees Hayleys emotional connection with little Harley and cant bring herself to stay. Hayley, on the other hand, is inspired by Chloes desire to be a good mum to Harley and goes home to the Slaters herself.

Hayleys newfound positive attitude almost sticks – until she overhears Kat talking to Stacey about her. As Jean tries to reassure her, Hayleys contractions begin. She rushes off to the hospital just a moment too soon to hear Stacey shut Kats negative attitude down.

When Hayley returns home, relieved that the contractions were a false alarm, she is shocked to discover that Jean has truly overstepped her boundaries – but what has she done?

Feeling isolated and got at, Hayley retreats into her shell and finally decides what she has to do.
