Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) has been blackmailing Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) in EastEnders as part of her plan to seek revenge on the Mitchells, but its safe to say that she well and truly upped her game during tonights episode, as — upon receiving some friction from Sharon — she threatened the life of Dennis Rickman.
When Mel learned that Keanu (Danny Walters) is the father of Sharons baby, she threatened to inform Phil (Steve McFadden) about his wifes infidelity if Sharon refused to meet her demands. At first, she blackmailed her into getting Louise (Tilly Keeper) and Keanu to move back in with Lisa (Lucy Benjamin) and, once the Mitchell matriarch proved that she was willing to comply with Mels requests, the E20 manager decided to up her game.
In tonights episode, Mel demanded that Sharon acquire her £20,000 so that she can begin a new life with Lisa and Louise. However, Lisa became suspicious of what exactly Mel had over Sharon but — in spite of her mates questioning — Mel refused to reveal her leverage.

With Sharon unable to acquire such a large amount of money in such a short space of time, she gathered all she could and handed it to Mel. However, Mel wasnt in the least but pleased, and reminded Sharon of whats at stake should her secret come out.
In order to up the ante, Mel delivered photos of Dennis — and what appeared to be a cutting of his hair — to Sharon, which clearly signified that — should Sharon refuse to play ball — Dennis life would be in danger.
