Mel Owen could be set to embark on a new romance in EastEnders as she grows closer to Jack Branning ahead of the re-opening of the club. But as it seems that passionate feelings may stir, Mel’s teenage son Hunter is on hand to try and sabotage things!
Jack has long had a penchant for beautiful blondes and when he showed Mel around the flat a few weeks ago, fans immediately jumped on the little bits of sexual tension that were fizzing.
And it seems that they may have been right as Jack’s help with Hunter makes Mel see him in a new light. Jack first supports Mel when the alarm in the club refuses to cease. At first, Mel refuses his help but eventually relents.
When Jack doesn’t see why the alarm is being triggered, they slowly realise that they aren’t alone in the club. But who is lying in wait for them?
Later, as the opening of the club draws nearer, Billy Mitchell begs Mel for a job and she sets him a challenge which later leads to Mel making him an offer.
Meanwhile, Hunter is doing all he can to help Mel prepare for the opening but is annoyed that Jack is constantly hanging around. It’s the anniversary of Steve’s death, which causes Jack to reach out to Hunter and Mel is touched by the effort.
However, Hunter is having none of it and hits back by sabotaging the sign of the new club. Will Hunter’s reluctance to accept Jack put a stop to any potential for romance?
Or can Jack win him and Mel round?
