Maya Stepney and Jacob Gallagher have been getting very close over recent weeks in Emmerdale, but are they about to get too close?
Jacob has been flirting up a storm with the teacher, showering her with compliments and orchestrating time alone together without his dad around, but could she be about to reciprocate?
Shes certainly been enjoying the attention, only too pleased to offer one on one tutorial sessions and Jacob is also working hard to get what he wants – after finding out its her birthday, he makes sure theyll all be getting to celebrate, and she accepts his pleas to mark the occasion despite saying usually letting it pass by.
Jacob even goes off to get her a secret birthday present while his dad David scrambles to get a last minute gift.
As the day of her birthday arrives, Maya is left disappointed when David gives her a bunch of flowers past their best. Later, when the family are meant to get together for her birthday meal, David plays right into Jacobs hands by being late, and Jacob is more than happy to let Maya know hes late because hes with Tracy.

Maya confronts David, and so does Jacob, resenting how his dad has been treating his crush.
Jacob and Maya are alone again and he presents her with a thoughtful gift that leaves her delighted. So touched in fact, she pours him a glass of champagne to celebrate. Is this what she was after all along? Will she take things too far?
