Emmerdale spoilers: Leyla Harding returns and shocks David Metcalfe tonight

Leyla Harding has been out of David Metcalfes life for a while in Emmerdale, and since shes been gone, the consequences of their one night stand have broken up Davids marriage to wife Tracy, leading to her having a termination. Her ex-husband has started a new relationship with his sons teacher Maya Stepney but with Leyla back, could everything be about to change?

After inviting Maya to move in with him yesterday in a big commitment move, David definitely feels like hes starting to get his life back on track. Hes no stranger to moving quickly into relationships, so hes excited to be moving forward with his new beau.

So when David gets home and hears a noise upstairs, he naturally assumes its Maya, who he gave house keys to yesterday. He decides to sneak upstairs and surprise her in the bedroom – but its David that gets the shock. Instead of his new girlfriend, he comes face to face with his ex, Leyla, who has let herself in and got comfortable in her dressing gown.

Through all the confusion, things look bad from the outside, and Leyla looks set to spoil another of Davids relationships when she immediately lands him in trouble with Maya.

Leylas return will throw her into the path of Tracy, who hasnt yet confronted the woman who destroyed her marriage. But it will also offer her the chance to reunite with her son Jacob? Could David and Leylas combined responsibility for Jacob and their history lead them to rekindle their romance?
