England football songs: Lyrics to Three Lions, Vindaloo and other World Cup classics

The England Sweden game is imminent, which means its time to sing tacky but brilliant football songs to make ourselves feel less nervous.

Although there have been a number of official and unofficial World Cup tracks over the years, there are a few that provoke more emotion than others.

The first has obviously got to be Three Lions from Baddiel and Skinner and The Lightning Seeds. Its what got us saying footballs coming home after all.

Then theres Fat Les Vindaloo, the video for which features Paul Kaye, David Walliams, Matt Lucas, and a whole host of other British talent (including Fat Les member Keith Allen, as well as a 15-year-old Lily Allen).

New Orders World in Motion is an altogether classier affair, and Ant and Decs Were On The Ball brings some fun to an otherwise tense time.

And, although Jerusalem has never been an official World Cup track, youd be hard pressed not to sing along if youre an England fan.

To make sure you dont get the lyrics wrong weve got them all in one place:

Three Lions lyrics

(I think its bad news for the English game)
(Were not creative enough and were not positive enough)

Its coming home, its coming home, its coming,
Footballs coming home

(well go on getting bad results)

Its coming home, its coming home, its coming,
Footballs coming home
Its coming home, its coming home, its coming,
Footballs coming home
Its coming home, its coming home, its coming,
Footballs coming home

Everyone seems to know the score,
Theyve seen it all before
They just know, theyre so sure
That Englands gonna throw it away, gonna blow it away
But I know they can play,
Cause I remember

Three lions on a shirt
Jules Rimet still gleaming
Thirty years of hurt
Never stopped me dreaming

So many jokes, so many sneers
But all those “oh so nears”
Wear you down, through the years
But I still see that tackle by Moore
And when Lineker scored, Bobby belting the ball
And Nobby dancing

Three lions on a shirt
Jules Rimet still gleaming
Thirty years of hurt
Never stopped me dreaming

(England have done it! In the last minute of extra time!)
(What a save, Gordon Banks!)
(Good old England, England that couldnt play football)
(England have got it in the bag)

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Its coming home, its coming home, its coming,
Footballs coming home
Its coming home, its coming home, its coming,
Footballs coming home

(England have done it)

Its coming home, its coming home, its coming,
Footballs coming home
Its coming home, its coming home, its coming,
Footballs coming home *REPEATED IN BACKGROUND*

Three lions on a shirt
Jules Rimet still gleaming
Thirty years of hurt
Never stopped me dreaming

Three lions on a shirt
Jules Rimet still gleaming
Thirty years of hurt
Never stopped me dreaming

Three lions on a shirt
Jules Rimet still gleaming
Thirty years of hurt
Never stopped me dreaming
