Exclusive Deleted Outlander Season 3 Scene Reveals Some Unusual Pillow Talk

Celebrities

Any Outlander fan can tell you that the long-separated Frasers have never exactly enjoyed a conventional romance. But while many a strange piece of pillow talk between them has made its way into the final cut of the Starz series (turtle soup, anyone?), this moment from their big Season 3, Episode 6 reunion didnt make it through. Those longing for a mixture of sexual innuendo and surgical terminology, however, need look no further. Here come Claire and Jamie to make even the phrase “orthopedic surgery” sound lusty.

True to form, Claire is intent on figuring out how to explain certain modernities to her long-lost, time-shifted husband, and Jamie, in turn, is very much on brand as he struggles earnestly to understand. She settles on a clever turn of phrase when explaining her lifes work as a surgeon by calling it “healing by means of a knife,” and anyone who knows Jamie Fraser knows hes not one to let such an odd turn of phrase go unexamined. Digging into the “contradiction” of the phrase, he decides to concoct an elaborate metaphor for his cherished wife. Who wouldnt want to be told they have a “finely worked scabbard,” “tempered steel” core, and “wicked-sharp edge”? Go ahead and make your ringtone the audio of Sam Heughan growling that last bit. We wont judge you.

This deleted scene waits for fans alongside a number of other behind-the-scenes goodies on the Outlander Season 3 Blu-ray, DVD, and digital formats, as well as on a limited collectors edition available now.
